If you want to learn bonsai, Greenwood Bonsai Studio offer pre set seasonal classes using a variety of tree species. Under the guidance of Corin Tomlinson, students are able to create bonsai at these day or half day sessions similar to this before and after juniper example, in the purpose built studio. Class numbers are limited to ten, to ensure maximum individual attention for each student so early enrolment is advisable.

Juniper Day
10am-1pm Demonstration and discussion of Juniper pruning, styling and maintenance. Followed at 2pm-5pm by workshop in Shimpaku Junipers, tree and pots included in price. Examples are available here if you wish to see the trees being used for this event.
Introductory Course (Beginners)
History, styles, suitable varieties, general care and maintenance styling techniques and a demonstration. Students will be provided with materials to make and take home 2 bonsai. Afternoon session progresses further to cover wiring, styling and the use of bonsai tools. Tree, pot and materials provided.
Studio study days
A series of studio days. Held on Thursdays, for advice/help/guidance/tuition. Studio is open from 10-4 and Corin will be available throughout the day. Phone to book a space - just come along anytime with anything you need help with. Cost £20 per person.
Maximum number of students
In order to ensure individual attention and guidance it is usually necessary to limit
the number of places on each practical course to 10 students. Early enrolment is therefore advisable.
Payment and booking
Minimum payment is 50 % of class fee. Bookings are taken by telephone, mail and e-mail. We accept all major credit / debit cards, cheques or postal orders.
Tuition
For those who wish to increase their bonsai creation skills and make significant advances in styling techniques, individual one-to-one sessions can also be made available, Contact Corin for more information.
