Chinese Yew – Podocarpus

Often also known as Buddhist Pine and planted in temple grounds in China.  Podocarpus have a narrow needle-like leaf. As the only conifer that can be grown as an indoor bonsai they are quite popular.

They can tolerate a bit of cold weather okay and get by in average light conditions. Keep  the soil moist. Re-pot it every 2 years or so into our basic bonsai compost mix and it will thrive. We feed every 2-3 weeks during the growing season with Phosmag granular fertiliser.
